We spent a wonderful week in Paris!

We spent a wonderful week in Paris, made particularly special by staying in the Cluny Suite. It is a small apartment, but perfectly comfortable both for my husband and I. The best thing is the location. We walked everywhere – it is just a few minutes walk to Notre Dame on Ile de la Cite, around the corner from the Pantheon, a few minutes walk to the Luxembourg Gardens. Indeed, we found we walked to all the museums and neighbourhoods we visited. There are many cafés within minutes, as well as incredible cheese, wine and patisserie shops. It was lovely to buy food and have a picnic in the Luxembourg Gardens. We had a very special time, and would absolutely return and stay at the Cluny Suite again.

Location, location, location!

We spent a week in this darling Annecy apartment which has the perfect location from which to enjoy old Annecy. I miss the fantastic views across the canal and down to the lake, swans and flowers everywhere. The building is in that iconic photo of Annecy. Incroyable!

The apartment is four flights up a spiral stone staircase and worth the trek. You will find everything just steps away (except a parking spot!) – all the shops, cafes, stone bridges, old palace, churches, and prison, cobblestoned walking streets…. We safely parked our rental car for free in a public lot just east of town past the police station – a five to ten minute walk. Don’t miss the open market on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings. It is the best we’d ever experienced, right outside your door and across the canal.

A boat trip on the lake was well worth it. We also drove around the lake to picnic at one of the village beaches, and we made use of the great pedestrian paths for running along the lake. Mt. Semnoz (a Tour de France climb) was a short drive away, with scenes right out of The Sound of Music. In just over an hour you can be in Chamonix where we highly recommend the aerial tram to the Aiguille du Midi for the spectacular views of Mont Blanc which is not to be missed! (Go on a clear day.)

Back in Annecy, we enjoyed La Sapaudia a few times for pizza (and the charming American waitress!) and L’Estaminet for Savoyarde specialties. And yes, Pauvert the traiteur next door has wonderful take-out offerings. The apartment has everything you need. It is charmingly decorated and furnished, and the washer/dryer posed no problems! We truly enjoyed our time in this most picturesque of settings, and have memories to last a lifetime…. Merci!

We found everything to be as promised!

We enjoyed our stay in the Edouard Jacques studio, and found everything to be as promised. It is a perfect pied-a-terre while visiting Paris. It could not have been in a better location for us. Our friends on Rue du Chateau were impressed, and may contact you if they have other people visiting them. We will also recommend this apartment to others. Thank you for your professional service.

We absolutely loved the Rue du Chateau apartment! The location, amenities, everything on the website was true. We especially appreciated the extra-comfortable bed and pillows, the fans, and the hair dryer! Merci!

P.S. – Thank you also for the coffee pot with REAL coffee, not just NesCafe!

The Annecy suite is in a great location in the middle of the old town.

The Annecy suite is in a great location in the middle of the old town with a great view over the old prison and castle. By chance, we arrived just before the Bastille Day celebration with stunning fireworks in the lake followed by a cultural week with fantastic street entertainment and shows.
