Your Slave Quarter apartment was wonderful.

Your Slave Quarter apartment was wonderful. We got lots of exercise climbing the staircase. We didn’t even know that we had a balcony. It was also a treat to meet you in person after being in contact with you over the years with your Paris apartments. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. It was quiet, comfortable, and handy to all that the French Quarter has to offer. Robert is also very helpful and eager to please. I’m sure we will be doing more business in one form or another in the near future.

Thank you,

The Vineyard Suite Was Magnifique!

“A Place of Calm” – yes, exactly as advertised! After spending a few glorious (but cold and busy) days in Paris, including running the Half-Marathon, it was a pleasure to unwind at this beautiful gem. We were warmly greeted by George and Jean Pierre, but we must confess we most appreciated the friendly welcome by Charlemagne (Charlie), their beautiful bi-lingual Bernese mountain dog! (We missed our dogs at home!) The owners’ hospitality, recommendations, and attention to detail (both in their gorgeous chateau and the guest accommodations) were much appreciated. Thank you for the wine and flowers, and milk in the fridge! Our vineyard suite looked exactly as pictured and was extremely clean, comfortable, and well-designed. Perfect location for chateau-hopping (we visited 8 in 3 days at a leisurely pace).

We were lucky to arrive on a Monday, so we stocked up at the fantastic Tuesday outdoor market in Bourgueil, and enjoyed cooking several meals in our apartment. Don’t miss the Cafe Metry (patisserie/ salon de the) for their outstanding pains au chocolat and coffees. We also very much enjoyed dinners at La Rose de Pindar and La Trattoria (excellent crepes – but cash only unless you have a credit card with la puce). Everyone was very friendly. The village center is a 15 minute pleasant walk. Yes, we were there during the off-season, weather was chilly and not much was in bloom, but that was offset by the lack of crowds and the solitude – merci George, Jean Pierre, and Charlie, for sharing your place of calm. We hope to rent from Historic Rentals again, perhaps one of your lovely Paris apartments.

A la prochaine!

Thank you for such an amazing place to stay!

I was lucky enough to stay in Historic Rentals’ Botanica suite in New Orleans for two weeks over Christmas 2012. It was a perfect home away from home. The location is ideal, right in the French Quarter, but a few blocks away from all the madness so it’s quiet and has a safe, residential feel.

The suite itself is so comfortable, with all the amenities to make a longer stay comfortable. I loved having a kitchen for breakfasts. George, one of the owners, greeted me on the night I arrived, and provided a wealth of information on great places for a solo traveler. Robert, who maintains the property, even dropped by every few days to check if I needed anything. When I had one small maintenance issue he came by immediately and took care of it. I loved my apartment in the French Quarter. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else and can’t wait to go back.

The Rue du Chateau suite is in a perfect location to visit Paris.

The apartment on Rue du Chateau is in a perfect location to visit Paris.  It is very close to the Pernety metro station which give you easy access to all of Paris,  the RER station Denfert Rochereau which provides an inexpensive service to Charles de Gaulle airport, and the wonderful market on Rue Daguerre. It is also a 1/2 block from an excellent bakery.

The apartment is in easy walking distance to Les Frangines bistro (The Franprix is located right across the street), Le Petit Baigneur (which, in my estimation, is one of the better restaurants in Paris), and L’assiette. There are also several Turkish places along Rue Raymond Losserand that are really cheap and good if all you want is a sandwich and fries and a glass of wine. The suite is also within easy walking distance to the Montparnasse Tower which has the most amazing views of Paris.

The apartment was great. Completely furnished and very clean. Just perfect. Free phone service back to the US. Free internet (very fast). Could not ask for more.

We had a WONDERFUL time this year in the Slave Quarter Suite!

We had a WONDERFUL time this year in the Slave Quarter Suite! What started out as one little trip 7 years ago (to help rebuild after hurricane Katrina by spending some $) has turned into a yearly event that I VERY much anticipate!

Thanks so much!
