Travel Memoirs Writing Seminar: May 3rd – 6th, 2012

Write your travel memoirs while staying in an 18th century château in France’s Loire Valley.

Have you always dreamed of writing and publishing your own version of “Down and Out and Living in Paris?” Join the Every Life Is A Movable Feast travel writing workshop held this spring at the Château des Sablons in France’s historic and picturesque Loire Valley. While here, you will be inspired to start writing down your own travel experiences!

The Château des Sablons is located on the edge of Bourgueil, a medieval market town near some of the greatest castles that the Loire Valley has to offer.

The four-day workshop will be led by Margo Hammond, former book editor of the St. Petersburg Times, founder of the CREATIVE LATE BLOOMER blog, and memoir writing teacher at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Excursions to regional wineries, Loire Valley châteaux, and the nearby studio of French author Honore de Balzac may also be arranged.

We fully enjoyed our stay in France!

We wish to thank you both for being such kind hosts. As usual, we fully enjoyed our stay in France at your Loire Valley chateau, and your Paris apartment. We ate lunch frequently at 3 Rue Rosiers which has good French food, and is very busy with locals. We also enjoyed Pierre Cardin’s art nouveau museum at his Maxim’s restaurant.

We plan to visit your New Orleans unit this spring.

Yours very respectfully,

>Thank you so much for your hospitality.

>Thank you so much for your hospitality. Your welcome was warm and sincere. The chateau was a wonderful place to stay. So wonderful that we didn’t want to leave. Thanks for your guided tour. It was great to see areas that we otherwise wouldn’t have ventured to. We have a saying in Australia, “a man’s home is his castle.” In your case it is true. We will hold many fond memories, especially the view from the Vineyard suite.

>The Vineyard Suite was better than the picture!

>The Vineyard Suite was better than the picture – comfortable bed and good use of space. George and Jean-Pierre are the perfect hosts! We had a tour of the chateau and loved its classy style. The gardens were peaceful, and the stay made for one of our best vacations ever. We used the pool one day, and used the kitchen often. We also liked that the chateau was in the middle of a great wine region, and within an hour of most of the chateaus that we wanted to visit. We have recommended Historic Rentals to friends already.

Culinary Education Program

We just wanted to take a minute of your time to let you know what a great experience we had at the Château des Sablons. Not only was educational program stimulating and informative, it was a gastronomical extravagance. We were not sure of what we were getting into when we signed up for the class, but rest assured you exceeded our expectations.

Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation.

It was wonderful to be in the Loire again with its superb châteaux and wonderful restaurants – one of which produced the dinner of my life! Many of the gardens are outstanding, and there is a clarity in the air which I love. The Château des Sablons is most comfortable, and has been refurbished to a high standard, but watch your head in some of the bedrooms as they have internal flying buttresses!

>Thank you for your hospitality and for such a glorious stay at the Chateau des Sablons!

>

Thank you for your hospitality and for such a glorious stay at the Chateau des Sablons in the Harvest Suite! We truly enjoyed exploring and re-discovering what the Loire Valley had to offer – its chateaux and abbeys, its foods and wines, its beautiful towns, and its people. We could stay there for months and still not see everything. Thank you again, and a la prochaine fois!
