Thank you so much for the wonderful stay at Chateau des Sablons. Tom, the boys and I were all so happy in the Garden Suite – comfy beds, Apple TV, the pool, our outside table, and Charlemagne of course. Thank you for your recommendations of places to visit and/or eat. We loved visiting the chateaux, the villages, and absolutely loved our last day biking around the vineyards. I wish we could have stayed longer to explore further afield (and taste more wine).
Specifically:
- I really liked having all the rules in the concierge book rather than in signage posted all over the property. For example, no dire warnings posted all over the pool area, or reserved signs on the patio, etc. Everything is so much more peaceful without signs everywhere. Thank you!
- I thought the Garden Suite was very thoughtfully decorated and equipped. It really had everything we needed including wine and milk for the coffee (and the coffee). The only thing I missed was a full length mirror, (maybe that was a good thing after two weeks in France). I love your paint colours.
- I was surprised by how much we enjoyed having the Apple TV. After a hectic week in Paris running around, the boys were just delighted to lie in the couch and watch the Simpsons a bit. As parents, we didn’t mind the break.
We would love to come back sometime, but of course the only downside to your chateau and the Loire Valley is the distance from Vancouver. Oh well, as Jean-Pierre suggested, we will have find a suitable anniversary or such to celebrate (in the ballroom of course).
